This book came VERY highly recommended to me by my best friend, and though I wasn’t sure if it was for me, I wanted to give it a shot. I purchased it from Kobo as an e-book and despite the fact that I only gave it 2/5 stars, I DID enjoy portions of this book. It was well written, but the story was just too far out there for me.
This is a re-telling of the story of Anne Boleyn, from the perspective of her as a .. zombie? I’m never quite sure. She has been beheaded, and she finds herself alive, in her coffin, and after escaping, sews her own head back on and then travels around seeking revenge. This is also a queer friendly book which I appreciated, she gets involved with a woman.
The chain of events that happens after that, is just weird. Again the writing was really lovely, I enjoyed reading this book but the story itself just had too many holes, and was too nonsensical. Which I understand is hilarious considering I read a lot of fantasy, but I don’t know how else to word it.
